Cozy

Photo Challenge Submission

Seems like autumn barely started and here it is already November and the weather has taken a turn more towards winter. Brrrr! Of course it is an excuse to dig out all those warm quilts and blankets that our crafty relatives have made us. In fact, we had the perfect one to fit in with this month’s theme for the I Heart Faces photo challenge. And it didn’t take much convincing to get Caley to snuggle up in the cozy warmth of this afghan:

Friendship

Photo Challenge Submission

This is our first time entering the I Heart Faces photo challenge, but this month’s theme of “friendship” had us instantly thinking of this portrait of Cyndy and Uschi from a quick shoot we did at The Great Escape:

These two aren’t just friends, but partners as a guide dog team. If you look closely you can just barely see Uschi’s leather harness.

Welcome, Jean!

It’s with great pleasure that we introduce Jean who we have brought on as a second photographer. You may have seen some of her lovely and creative work already if you’ve sat through the rotation on the homepage or poked through the events section of our portfolio. Jean is an extremely talented photographer with an impressive background in portrait photography. And she’s just about the sweetest person you’ll ever meet. No, really, she’s awesome and we’re thrilled to have her join our team.

Drue & Jesenia

Aren’t these two the most adorable couple?

We’d like to congratulate Drue and Jesenia and wish them both a long and happy life together! It was a beautiful wedding and we were so honored to be able to share in their special day.

In fact, after looking at all the lovely photos from the wedding, we got right to it and updated our portfolio to add some of our favorites. We also did a bit of housecleaning in the other sections, too. You can check out the other pages from the dropdown menu at the top of our webpage. And we’re sure to be adding more photos soon as we have a bunch of fun things on our schedule coming up.

Meanwhile, you can always keep up with our goings-on via Facebook and Twitter. We’re a bit lonely on the social networks, but even so they’re the first places we post any updates.

We’re Back!

Okay, well, on your end it shouldn’t have looked like we were gone at all. But if you’re reading this it means that DNS has propagated to our new host. Seems that little bit of comment spam we dealt with the other day was a bit more malicious than initially thought and long story short we’re happily much more secure. Yay!

In other news, we got confirmation that Pip was adopted! We couldn’t be happier for the little gal! Here’s to a long and happy life together with her new family!

However, it seems that Prince is still looking for a forever home. Green Mountain Pug Rescue says of the six-year-old puppy mill survivor: “He is a nice big smooshy pug in need of a home. Prince has been with us for awhile and we can’t figure out why he hasn’t been adopted yet.” We’re hoping the perfect family finds their way to him soon!

For more information about Prince or any of the other adoptable pugs, visit GMPR’s website. In the meantime, we’re hoping to get to Whiskers soon and take some photos of some kitties looking for their forever homes. Plus, coming up soon on our calendar we have a bunch of fun events and we’ll be sure to share some previews here.

Comment Spam Has Struck

We’ve been a bit remiss with keeping this blog updated. So many things to do and just not enough time to do it.

However, that hasn’t kept the spambots from finding us and being busy. The comment queue has now been cleaned out, so if by chance you left us a comment and it got caught by our filters please accept my humble apologies. It’s sometimes hard to catch that lone legit comment in the sea of spam!

Also, while we’re always checking comments here and our Facebook and Twitter pages, if you’re looking to make an appointment our contact information is listed here and is really the most reliable and simple means to get in contact with our office manager.

That’s it for now, next time I promise to have some fun new photos to share!

Good News

This past Saturday several local shelters and rescue organizations gathered for an event at Colonie Center. We had a lot of fun chatting with some of the volunteers that we’ve been privileged enough to work with and we got some good news about some of GMPR friends!

We’re extremely happy to report that Gilbert was recently adopted. We wish him and his new family a long and happy life together! Also, Pip has a pending adoption and we’ve heard that people have expressed interest in Prince. We’re crossing our fingers that these two will also find their forever homes very soon and we’ll update again when we hear more.

Two Cute Pugs!

Due to a comedy of errors that left us standing outside in the chilly March air with dwindling light we had far too little time to spend with this cute duo, but they still managed to turn us into gibbering marshmallows. With faces like this, can you really blame us?

Prince (right) and Pip (left) are just two pugs that Green Mountain Pug Rescue has available for adoption. You can find out more about them and how to adopt a pug at GMPR’s site.

Gilbert

In case our pet photos weren’t clue enough, we’re quite the animal lovers here. We’ve recently started a partnership of sorts with some local rescues and shelters and Saturday we had our very first session with Gilbert. He’s a pug from Green Mountain Pug Rescue and he’s currently looking for his forever home.

Isn’t he just adorable? He was quite the little gentlemen and schmoozed right up to us as if we were fast friends. We met up with him and his foster mom at Crossings in Colonie – along with half of the Capital District also out enjoying the beautiful weather. If you’re interested in sharing your home with this little guy, head on over to GMPR’s website for details on how to adopt him or any of their other available pugs.

We’ve set up a section here at the site for Gilbert and any of the other adoptable friends we’re bound to meet through this new opportunity. But we’ll update here when we hear news on this little guy’s forever home.
