Christina and Friends

Last week we spent an afternoon with Christina and all of her wonderful adopted dogs. Each of her furry friends have such terrific personalities and it was honestly a treat to be a witness to the lovely bond she has with each of the dogs. We’re pretty sure she’d fit in perfectly here with us since pretty much any conversation we have that isn’t about photography has to do with dogs.

By the way, Christina’s a volunteer with Help Orphan Puppies, a rescue organization that is dedicated entirely to (as the name implies) helping puppies. If you’re interested in adopting or fostering a puppy in need, please check out their website and Facebook page.

Happy Birthday!

Saturday we took advantage of the beautiful sunny day to grab some photos of a very special birthday.

It’s likely you’ve seen this lovely German shepherd scattered throughout our portfolio. Uschi is a working guide dog and last Friday just happened to be her sixth birthday! When we heard about the little party her handler was throwing her we couldn’t resist helping memorialize the event with some photos.

Uschi wasn’t entirely cooperative, but it was her party after all. She was still enough for us to capture her with her cute birthday tiara and she was utterly fascinated by the soap bubbles her handler was creating with a toy gun. There was a bit of a breeze, so the balloons really didn’t get as featured as we’d have liked. But we expect to try again next year.

It’s #TongueOutTuesday!

It’s no secret we’re animal lovers here at ICGOLD Photography. We won’t go so far as to admit we’ve spent many hours reminiscing about our furry loved ones, but it’s a fairly common subject. In fact, it was through this common interest that we found our office assistant because she came to us for holiday card portraits!

So, what’s #TongueOutTuesday? It’s a hashtag on social media (most specifically Instagram) where people share photos of their dogs with their tongues out because, well, why not? So, we thought we’d share a few of our favorite tongues:

You can see more in the pets section of our portfolio.

We’re Back!

Okay, well, on your end it shouldn’t have looked like we were gone at all. But if you’re reading this it means that DNS has propagated to our new host. Seems that little bit of comment spam we dealt with the other day was a bit more malicious than initially thought and long story short we’re happily much more secure. Yay!

In other news, we got confirmation that Pip was adopted! We couldn’t be happier for the little gal! Here’s to a long and happy life together with her new family!

However, it seems that Prince is still looking for a forever home. Green Mountain Pug Rescue says of the six-year-old puppy mill survivor: “He is a nice big smooshy pug in need of a home. Prince has been with us for awhile and we can’t figure out why he hasn’t been adopted yet.” We’re hoping the perfect family finds their way to him soon!

For more information about Prince or any of the other adoptable pugs, visit GMPR’s website. In the meantime, we’re hoping to get to Whiskers soon and take some photos of some kitties looking for their forever homes. Plus, coming up soon on our calendar we have a bunch of fun events and we’ll be sure to share some previews here.

Two Cute Pugs!

Due to a comedy of errors that left us standing outside in the chilly March air with dwindling light we had far too little time to spend with this cute duo, but they still managed to turn us into gibbering marshmallows. With faces like this, can you really blame us?

Prince (right) and Pip (left) are just two pugs that Green Mountain Pug Rescue has available for adoption. You can find out more about them and how to adopt a pug at GMPR’s site.

In case our pet photos weren’t clue enough, we’re quite the animal lovers here. We’ve recently started a partnership of sorts with some local rescues and shelters and Saturday we had our very first session with Gilbert. He’s a pug from Green Mountain Pug Rescue and he’s currently looking for his forever home.

Isn’t he just adorable? He was quite the little gentlemen and schmoozed right up to us as if we were fast friends. We met up with him and his foster mom at Crossings in Colonie – along with half of the Capital District also out enjoying the beautiful weather. If you’re interested in sharing your home with this little guy, head on over to GMPR’s website for details on how to adopt him or any of their other available pugs.

We’ve set up a section here at the site for Gilbert and any of the other adoptable friends we’re bound to meet through this new opportunity. But we’ll update here when we hear news on this little guy’s forever home.

Welcome to ICGOLD Photography!

You’ll have to pardon any of the dust around here as we settle into our brand new home. If you haven’t yet, please check our information page and feel free to browse through our portfolio of portrait, pet and nature photography. We’ll be updating here at the blog whenever we add new photos.

Our biggest news is that we’ve just opened a shop at Society6 where you can purchase selected prints of some of our favorite photographs. Here are a few available for sale right now:

Oh, and if social media is your thing, you’ll notice links in our side bar to our Twitter and Facebook accounts. We’d be glad to have you follow us and we’d love to chat with you!
